Brief Summary of Role


The Full-Stack Architect will act as the technical architect on Heroku & AWS projects for Appirio, working in conjunction with an Appirio consulting team to build high quality cloud custom solutions. The ideal resource has deep understanding of full-stack development, common integration approaches and web services (REST, JSON, SFDC integration) as well as the ability to build across multiple UI form factors and frameworks (Javascript Frameworks, Microservices, etc.).


Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical design of Heroku and AWS solutions by working with customers to understand their needs

  • Focus on delivering an elegant architecture that provides performance, scalability and a quality user experience

  • Provide direction to project team, including determining development and deployment strategies, including code management, continuous integration and other aspects of DevOps

  • Provide technical oversight to project team, to determine high risk areas and mitigation strategies to overcome obstacles

  • Act as the technical lead during the architect phase, working in conjunction with a Project Manager to create the development plan (Heroku, AWS mobile, SFDC, etc)

  • Lead a development team to build custom applications including consumer-grade responsive web applications, data intensive back-end solutions and integrations with multiple platforms  

  • Contribute to platform strategy projects by educating customers on options and providing recommendations for platform architecture, coding best-practices, security, integration, add-ons, development process, etc

Education and Required Experience

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 8+ years of overall experience in software development, with 4+ years of Full Stack development

  • 2+ years experience with ReactJS and Node.js

  • Additional experience with other common Javascript frontend languages such as VueJS or AngularJS

  • 2+ years experience with Heroku, AWS, Google and Azure

  • Exposure to several of the following technologies: Modern JavaScript (ES6+), Python, Go, JavaScript frameworks (ReactJS, VueJS, Angular.js) and Salesforce Mobile SDK

  • Familiarity with Android or IOS Mobile Development, preferably with React Native

  • Expertise with working with and delivering projects using Agile methodologies 

  • Expertise with modern development methodologies such as 12 Factor applications, Microservices

  • Expertise with all aspects of DevOps (source control, continuous integration, deployments, etc.)

  • Technical acumen to convert business plans into technical solutions that perform and scale

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain ideas very clearly through verbal, graphic, and written communication

  • Professional, accountable, enthusiastic, and confident, with a customer focus

  • Experience and desire to coach and mentor technical team members

  • Located and able to work in the U.S. from a home office and able to travel up to 40-60%

  • Title and compensation will be based on several reasons including experience

  • Not eligible for Visa sponsorship
